Villa Bahagia located next to the traditional village of Umalas and just ten minutes’ drive from Batubelig beach on Bali’s southwestern coast. This out of town setting presents the double attraction of being close to everything that guests might need, while also offering visitors a privileged insight into the traditions of rural Bali. Positioned on a hill, the villa is blessed with beautiful views, enhanced on clear days by the magical sight of the Bali’s mountain range extending from Mt Agung in the east to Mt Batukaru in the west.

The trendy Seminyak area, with its wide choice of international restaurants – including the famous ‘Ku Dé Ta’, ‘Kafé Warisan’, ‘Living Room’, ‘Hu’u, ‘La Lucciola’ and ‘Sarong’ – together with a plethora of chic cocktail bars, exciting nightclubs, lavish spas and elegant shops, is a mere 10 minutes’ drive away. The sweeping beach at Seminyak, renowned for its world-class surf breaks and panoramic coastline views, is the place where the local community gather every evening to watch the legendary sunsets.

For horse lovers, the Umalas Equestrian Centre is just 500 metres away, offering everything from sunset beach rides to dressage tuition and riding lessons for young children. Nirwana Golf and Country Club, one of Asia’s finest golf courses, designed by Greg Norman, is a 20-minute car journey. Set amid sparkling rice terraces, the spectacular greens overlook the Indian Ocean and the dramatic wave-lashed Tanah Lot sea temple.

Villa Bahagia is also convenient for all of the Island’s main shopping malls and tourist attractions, and just 35 minutes’ drive from Bali’s International Airport.

The delightful Villa Bahagia presents four air-conditioned master bedrooms, complete with ensuite bathrooms, an office or additional bedroom suitable for a child, a sizeable living and dining room open to the garden, an adjoining gazebo with built in sofas, and a fully-equipped kitchen.

This two-storey holiday villa in Bali showcases contemporary Balinese architecture complemented by a large garden with a flat lawn and 14 x 6 metre swimming pool, together with a relaxation pavilion. The villa and garden are surrounded by high walls for privacy and the name Bahagia is taken from the Indonesian word for happy.


The staff
One villa Manager: meets and greets guests on arrival, leads the staffing team to meet the expectations of each guest.

Two Villa Attendants: responsible for housekeeping duties, takes care of breakfast, daily laundry and providing waitress service around the villa and grounds.

One Cook: trained in local & international cuisine and in charge of the market shopping and preparation of guest meals.

Three Security Guards: on-duty to ensure the safety and security of the guests and the premises.

One Gardener & One Pool Attendants: work discreetly in maintaining the landscape and the pool without disturbing the guests.
The Bedrooms

There are 4 air-conditioned master bedrooms at Villa Bahagia, complete with en-suite bathrooms, picture windows and large sliding glass doors. One of the bedrooms has an adjoining office that can be used as a single bedroom, suitable for a child. Two bedrooms are located downstairs and two are situated upstairs; each is characterized by fresh white walls, flat ceilings and timber floors. Two of the bedrooms are furnished with queen size beds, while the other two bedrooms have twin beds, which convert to king size beds. Other furnishings include wardrobes, bedside tables, chests and chairs. Alcoves display Indonesia artifacts, and the walls are adorned with local artwork or framed black & white photographs of Bali.

The two Master Rooms have the additional facility of a dressing area with a dressing table and large mirror. The upstairs Master Bedroom opens onto a romantic stone balcony furnished with a wicker chair and table. From here, there is a beautiful view across the rice fields. The spare room is accessed via the smaller of the two bedrooms on the upper floor; it opens onto a sunny Palimanan stone terrace bordered by plants and flowers. Each bedroom is equipped with a safe deposit box.

Each en-suite bathroom has its own distinct characteristics; each is fashioned in light grey terrazzo, and fitted with a bath tub, walk-in shower, double washbasins and a toilet. The two downstairs bathrooms are each complemented by a pebbled courtyard planted with green foliage. Each is fitted with an oversize bathtub and an outdoor shower. Surrounded by walls, these garden bathrooms are totally private. The two upstairs bathrooms are cool and breezy due to the shuttered glassless windows. Each features a walk-in rain shower and an oversize bathtub.

Garden and Pool
The villa presents an enticing 14 x 6 metre swimming pool, which runs the width of the garden at the top end. The garden also features terraces, areas for relaxing, and a Palimanan sundeck with sun loungers and umbrellas. Adjoining the villa is an elevated open sided gazebo with a high pitched roof, a ceiling fan, an antique table and built in cushioned seating. There is a guest washroom leading off the courtyard at the main entrance, and a secure car parking area

Food and Beverage
Villa Bahagia is able to provide a simple food and beverages service for maximum of 8 guests – please ask the cook or manager for more details at any time of the day, whether you are requesting breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks.

Food & Beverage Charges
For your convenience, as with all charges, food & beverage charges will be billed to your final account and payable in total upon checkout. Please ask your manager if you wish to check your daily expense. Food items are charges at cost price. (Staff will present receipts as proof of purchase and add to your final bill). Drinks have set prices.

Special Requests & Dietary Requirements
Should you have a request for a dish not on the menu, or a special dietary requirement, please feel free to ask the cook or the villa manager, who will strive to comply with all of your wishes.

Large Dining Groups
If you have a large group it is advisable that the group dines on the same dish or that you order several dishes to be shared. Please allow at least one day’s notice, and feel free to discuss any requirements with the cook or the villa manager.

Villa Bahagia presents the perfect tropical setting for Bali weddings, receptions, barbeques and other functions within the private walled garden, which is presided over by two relaxation gazebos. The modern kitchen provides the staff with the equipment and facilities to cater for a variety of small functions. Special events can also be coordinated by professional outside caterers who have the world-class expertise to prepare a sumptuous feast at the villa, in addition to the coordination of decorations, flowers, lighting, sound systems and entertainment.
